The New England Complex Systems Institute (NECSI) is an independent academic research and educational institution with students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty. In addition to the in-house research team, NECSI has co-faculty, students and affiliates from MIT, Harvard, Brandeis and other universities nationally and internationally. NECSI has been instrumental in the development of complex systems science and its applications to global challenges including pandemics.
We are currently focusing our resources into mobilizing a humanitarian movement to stop the COVID-19 outbreak based on scientific analysis with implications for effective actions for individuals, communities, companies, and all levels of government. We have put together a global volunteer community of thousands who are engaging in multiple aspects of the outbreak response including, technical, communication, outreach, medical, and more. See http://endcoronavirus.org and necsi.edufor more information.
